What does this exactly mean listed by one of my charge offs? I have not seen this on any other reports. Does this mean they are trying to reage the account? I have lived at the same residence for six years. Thanks!
Hi, I had this on my report 'recently located individual'. This was after I started to dispute things. ------------ I had sat on my report for years, and never did anything at all, or applied for anything, so there was no activity. Then I started to dispute. I am guessing when I started to stir up activity, they had/have found me Is that what you mean?
Yes thank you for the response. Even though it says that I believe this account is past the SOL-- though now I am concerned. I am in NC and I have seen on various websites different times for the SOL. For open / revolving accounts I have seen 3 years and now I have just recently seen 4. Is there a way of finding out which one it is? Thanks
Open ended accounts are credit cards. I went to http://www.carreonandassociates.com/sol.htm and worked from there. I wish you luck......
I don't mean to double post, but here is the direct link: http://www.carreonandassociates.com/statute.htm This time I got it right
see products from CRA http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra...ad.php?s=&goto=newpost&threadid=28196&pgnum=4 see thread on waking sleeping giant above that talks about Experian product that allows OC or CA to receive updated information on you also see http://www.transunioninsurance.com/sitemap/ which lists transunion products such as Trace/Retrace/ID Search/TracePlus
Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't tolerate that flag. It implies that you were running from, escaping, avoiding debt. Dispute it.
Manequinne, I have the same thing on my Experian report. I don't really know what it means. It showed up on my Experian report last year after I had my report pulled. I am not too worried about mine, because it is scheduled to drop off anyway within the next six months.
JohnOG, I guess that we're getting some answers here to our discussions re flagging of reports and the SCNL issue that we talked about in the "sleeping giant" thread. Got to say you were right, it looks like the consumer CAN see the notations.
All of these sites are inconsistent!!!!!!!!!!!! I looked up Ohio on several different sites and they didn't have a statute of limitations for open accounts. Then, a helpful person emailed me a site to look up the statute of limitations for Ohio. The site that this person gave me said the SOL for Ohio was 4 years! Not six!! I am flipping out! Just called the hospital yesterday thinking that the bills that weren't paid by the insurance company were past the SOL. I'm going to go to my other computer and pull the website out of my email. I will post it later tonight. Maybe it has completely different SOL's for everything. Hope not! Where do these sites get their SOL's from anyway? Deflated, Sirrowan
2 things are going on here Sirrowan. First, SOL's in each state are different, and each state determines them individually, conforms to legal precedents, and changes them from time to time. Second, these sites do not always update their information at the same time, and because there are 50 states with multiple SOL dates to maintain for the different types of debt, there is alot of updating to keep up on. Therefore you can only use these sites as an imperfect reference...you MUST consult an attorney in your state or research your state's SOL via legal online resources (like LexisNexis), contacting the court, or maybe even a legal library, in order to BE SURE of the EXACT and current SOL date. Because you would be raising this in defense of a lawsuit or countersuit, you need to be certain you have up to date, and correct information. It would be a BIG mistake to rely solely on the free online resources that keep track of the SOL dates in all 50 states and for the different types of debt. -Peace, Dave
Is the CA asset acceptance? They always put this on your credit report. We had a thread on it along time ago. I think it was about 14 people who had this notation on their credit reports. Asset does this all the time. do a search under "cannot locate consumer" and you'll probably find it.
Hey Butch, Thanks for the advice. Luckily, that was one of the accounts I was able to get rid of. Again, thanks.......
Dave, Thank you for the information. I am definitely going to find out exactly and in writing what the statute of limitations for open accounts for Ohio are. I found the website that said the SOL for open accounts in OH was 4 years. http://www.fidelityinfocorp.com/state_list.html. I do not know if their information is correct or not, but I emailed them and asked them to supply me with the source of their information. I do hope it is correct though! Soooooooo much to learn! Sirrowan
Hey Sorrowan, Are you dealing with Fidelity? I just got a removal from them. They are actually rather diligent at following the law tho, so I suspect their SOL adivisory is accurate. But who knows. I'm in Columbus. Email me if ya want.
My other question is; Is a medical debt considered "open ended"? We've talked about that before but no resolution. ???
