So i was cleaning and found this letter from lawyers saying this: Now come, the legal rep and attorneys for the plaintiff having received full satisfaction and payments for the judgement entered against... On 3-3-07 for $1031 plus costs and hereby releases said judgment in accordance with 735ILCS 5/12-183. Further, the plaintiffs judgement is hereby voided, cancelled and released and shall be stricken from all records wherever so located, including but not limited to the Recorder of deeds office in dekalb. Does this mean i can send the credit bureaus this letter and get the listing removed?
I'd make sure the court records reflect that first. If they don't, then if/when the CRA checks them to validate your claim, they'll likely believe the court records over some letter you found. Once you get confirmation from the court that this case has been stricken (in writing, ideally), THEN, dispute the entry in your credit report, attaching that letter as your reason why this account should not be reported. That way, when they check (if they check) the court documents will agree with yours. Just my $.02.
