One of my student loans reported as 60 days and 90 days past due back in 1998. I contacted the creditor and they agreed to remove the information from my credit report. They told me to file an electronic dispute and that they would respond that all derogs should be removed or to wait 6 to 8 weeks for them to send the credit bureaus a letter and have it processed, etc. Well, I disputed and they verified, even though they had agreed in writing to remove the old info. We are getting close to buying a house. Any ideas on how to put the pressure on the creditor to fix this asap?

If you have a letter in hand from the creditor, fax it to the CRA agencies insisting they conduct a reinvestigation and comply with the creditors and your wishes by deleting the late pay status. It will take about 5-7 business days, but with the letter, it should go through this time.
