nope.. here is the one I was looking for: http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54119&highlight=800 I had to dig through a LOT of history to find this one. So what IS up with the search?
I just checked my FICO tonight and it finally hit over 800 (801 to be exact). This is the highest its ever been for me. I was a bit perplexed to read that you need 30+ years of credit. I'm only 36 so there is no way that I've had credit for that long. My first credit card was at the age of 19 when I was in college (I think it was in 1988 or so -- which means my credit history is only 17 years long). I do have met all the other criteria however: no lates in the last 7 years, recent mortgage, low % use on credit limit.
Congratulations!! And no one knows EXACTLY what's required. It's an algorithm that takes everything into account. I don't think you necessarily need 30 years of history, or who came up with that.
