I get a hard inquiry done necessary to get a cell phone and experian drops me 2 points in 5 seconds over the inquiry. Dont ya just luv it This is the type of crap we have to deal with on a day to day basis just to try and move forward.
I recently had a need for a cell phone, but I could not take the risk of losing precious FICO points due to an additional inquiry and a new account opening. I only have 5+ years of credit history with three new accounts in the last five months. So I went with one of those prepaid phone deals, the TracFones. Of course, you can also prepay for a cell phone service carrier to get out of the credit check.
I just dumped tracphone due to quality of phone and with sprint i get 500 minutes free every month and free weekends. Now can you imagine what that would cost you with tracphone in cost per minute.
