how long do you think before it rebounds again. The only reason that I care, is because it dropped me to below 680, so now I'm an ever higher risk!!
Dropped 4 points to a 695. Doesnt know the answer to recovering the points the system has a mind of its own. There may be other factors that will gain you 5 points, such as length of time account established or a reduction in the balance owed.
I applied for Citibank last week and my score went from 622 to 615. I applied the next day with AMEX and my score went from 715 TO 697!!!!!!!!!! I lost 18 frickin' points for a second inquiry and I only have 3 on Equifax. A mortgage inq. from July and these two. It sucks, I hope I can get my 25 points back soon. By the way, Citi and AMEX approved me. No more applying until next year.
Sorry to repost, but that was 722 to 715 initially. Still a bunch of crap. "Generally, inquires have minimal effect on your score." OK, whatever.
Maybe when applying for credit it pays do do several on one day. The point drop may not register till the next day?
I applied for American Express last week and my score remained the same - didn't lose a point. I had no other hard inquiries on my report though...I thought I'd read that having 1 inquiry is optimal... but my score remained the same. I thought that was weird I didn't get docked a point or two. Ozzy.
I am doing the 45 day deal with Equifax (LKH's trick). I wait for 1 inq. to fall off, leaving me with 1. I then apply for what I want and get no decrease in pts. But, when the next inq falls off, I do get a few pts increase. Go figure.
LKH, I'd love for that to happen to me. I just signed up for CW, but I only want it for the 30 days. I don't think I'll have enough inquiries to get high enough. I wish there was something to do that w/ TU too!!! I have a ton of inq. on TU and EXP. I just tried docs trick, so maybe exp won't have so many at the end of this month!!
