How hard is it to remove late pays??? Not like one or two but the whole car note late 6-60 day and I think she had 24-26 (don't remember the exact #) 30 days. Friend and husband split up and she got left with the bills and struggled for several years to make ends meat. Any suggestions I can tell her? The finance company is Primus incase anyone has had any dealings with that company. She has over 1 year still left to pay on car.

Tell them no more payments 'till lates are removed.

STart disputing online thats what I did. Lexington helped get some of the lates off for me too.

I went from 13 to 5 on two of my reports and 13 to 2 on the other one, but i dont recommend using lexington.

I have a feeling that even if you dispute and get the lates removed by the CRA, the finance company will just put them back the next time they update the CRAs.

I recall reading a post with a nicey nice approach to the creditor explaining a hard luck story. The creditor fixed that person up. I can't remember who posted their letter, but it was effective for them. The creditor may say too bad, but I don't see a lot of other options until it's paid off.

Primus is a BIT*H to deal with. They repo'd my car. I tried to settle with them, but they didn't want to. Then when I disputed with the CRA's, they verified with a different name, Jaguar Credit, instead of Primus Automotive Financial. I couldn't find an address or phone number anywhere for them in Tennessee or the entire US for that matter.

At any rate, after MONTHS of disputing, they failed to verify and it has come off my reports. She'll be disputing those lates for the rest of 2002 if she wants them off.

    Good Luck!

How is that suppose to help her? Instead of 20 + lates she will wind up with a repo. No thanks, I would choose the late pays.

    Did she sign the note?
Can they prove when payments were actually made?

I'll have to ask her tommorrow to be sure of all the details, but I think she did sign the note. I have read that sometimes when you pay something off that later on the creditor doesn't even validate if it has been late because it's not worth thier time or money to do the research. But after reading the above post regarding primus I guess she is just lucky to have her car, huh?
