Looking for consumers that have had problems with this firm or JDB Colorado Capital Inv. I just had their case dismissed that they had against me. The firm filed a suit against me on behalf of the JDB and was unable to provide anything to validate the debt except what anyone could get from my CR. Even sent me an account number that was not mine. I hammered on the assignment issue in court and rather than prove it , they dismissed.

In looking at court records from all over my state (Oklahoma) I was overwhelmed by the number of suits this firm files on behalf of JDB's ( Unifund, Colorado Capital, Great Seneca etc.etc. ). They have got default judgments in numbers that blew my mind. They are garnishing wages and bank accounts left and right. I know that they basically had nothing on me but still filed suit and had I not answered I'd be one of the statistics mentioned above.

Some of us Oklahomans need to get together and shut this bunch down. I never dealt with a situation like this before but learned real quick the meaning of a "frivolous lawsuit".

Out of hard times over six years ago I managed to hold everything together except one CC company and the $1,000 balance turned into four times that amount when a JDB got ahold of it. I did try to make arrangements with the OC and that was when I discovered that Unifund had purchased the debt. Unifund brags about paying cents on the dollar for debts and hell was going to freeze over before I helped some dirtbag buy an airplane from a hardship I experienced.

LB&N have a default judgement against me, and has wiped out my bank account twice, I've since changed to cash everything...is it too late to send them a request for validation of this debt? By phone they don't seem to have much credible information on this old debt of mine...

Because it has been reduced to a judgment, the issue is essentially legally settled unless you can find some way to challenge the judgment, which becomes progressively more difficult over time.

I'm quite sure that there are other people that are of a like mind not only in Oklahoma but just about everywhere else as well. Many cities nationwide already have groups like you are talking about. I'm quite certain that either Oklahoma City or Tulsa and maybe other towns as well have one or more groups trying to do what you are suggesting. I'd check meetups.com for groups meeting near you. Another place to check to see if you can find a group or groups might be Craigslist.com. Those two resources are available for almost any city anywhere.

Here is wishing you good luck in finding a group that meets your requirements.

The original post was from 2006. I doubt that he's still looking for a group.

But those are some good references.
