I got a letter in Saturday's mail that in light of converstions that I had with Lowes/Monogram Bank that they closed my acccount, removed all charges, and sent letters to all Bureau's requesting deletion. I supposedly claimed theft Identity. I NEVER CLOSED THE ACCOUNT, have never talked to Lowes, and never reported the account as a fraud. Of course there is nobody to talk to on the weekend. The account has a 0 ballance. I usually use it during their promotional, no interst deals. It does have a $6000 dollar credit line and is a 4 year old account in good standing. I just don't understand how an account could be closed without consulting me. And the part of the letter about deleting all fraudelent charges, might be tough on a zero dollar account. How could a Lowes Fraud rep assume fraud on an account with no recent charges or balance. As Gilda Radner used to say on Saturday Night Live: If it's not one thing its another, if its not this its that. Now if the would like to Close my Citi card and remove the 10k balance, I probably wouldn't complain.
Did you have a conversation with Monogram about the account recently? Maybe the folks on the other end (a call center in India) misunderstood you and initiated a fraud closure? Call 'em back and straighten it out. Demand to speak with a supervisor (also- call mid-morning, Tues-Thurs... I've had better luck getting to the Atlanta call center during those times). Good luck- mj
