I recently asked some of my friends which car (BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Infiniti, Jaguar) would get the most second looks from people. One of them said BMW, another said Mercedes, and another said Jaguar. Which car would you choose and why ???

On the subject of luxury cars, which car do you think is better in terms of features, performance, and reliability, BMW or Mercedes ??

    Thanks.

Mercedes has the record for most troublesome vehicle.
It has the worst repair history of any vehicle on the market !

Between BMW and Merc, for years BMW has been the far better car, in reliability and driving experience. Now, for ultimate reliability and a wonderful all around car, hard to beat Lexus. I have always liked Jags for their style and overall "Britishness", a quality most sane folks would rather not deal with! Of course, I'm of British descent, I cried when the Queen Mum died!

For all it's history of automaking, it amazes me that Cadillac just can't get in the race anymore. They're trying, to no avail. Chrysler is trying to get back in the hunt, too. Their new Pacifica is a bust, and the new Crossfire? just a restyled Mercedes coupe, so we'll see.

I think the Jags over the last few years look a lot like the Ford Taurus. Look closely - there is a close resemblance. Who wants to pay Jag prices for a Ford?

Or Mercedes prices for a Chrysler?

    HEHE,

Hit it right on the nose. I happen to work for 1 of the top 3 automakers in the country and your statement split the nail in half right down the middle. The x type is a good example of the best Taurus available. Have you also checked out Volvo recently, that too has the Taurus feel to it as well. With Chrysler they have always had engine seal problems and now that they own the Mercedes line I would stay far away from them as well. My choice would be any of the BMW' over any of the Jags or Mercedes out there based on reliability alone. The Audi is a very nice car with the best interior I have seen to date but they have alot of issues with the all the computer malfunctions they have..Earlier I did say BMW was the best but I would have to agree that the Lexus and even Acura seems to have everyone beat as far as reliability 5 years down the road.

If I had the money to buy any car I want, it would have to be the Porsche Cayenne.

It's an SUV tested and driven on a race track, basically a sports car SUV.

You might not consider it a luxury car, but it's my pick for "when I win the lottery."

My wife and I own a BMW and a Lexus, and I love my Bimmer! Her car is more luxurious, but my car is a lot more fun to drive. Her car is extremely "boring" when it comes to driving.
