[color=35007]I am wondering what it is that the people at Macy's and Facs Group (there corporate) are smoking or taking. I have been in contact with them since May 2nd. My first letter to them was a dispute and a restricted offer of 25% for deletion. They responded May 12th saying they verified the account and will report it as unpaid charge off and offered 80% payment in exchange for "settled in full charge off R9". At this point, I told them the truth. It has been a long time since the DOLA of this account and I have lost all of my bills and important documents from this time period. I also told them that I was indeed a victim of identity theft during the time in question and I can not be sure that the debt was my doing. I asked for some documentation on this account and stated that I was still disputing this account. They responded with an unsigned form letter telling me that they were conducting an investigation and that letter was "merely an interim response". well I never received anything else from them. I sent them out a letter 3 weeks ago. No response. Last week I sent a letter to the Chairman it basically stated that I was tired of dealing with this and I just wanted it to be over. It was a restricted offer to pay for deletion. well I got a response from someone in the exec office it says essentially the same as their last letter "be assured we will respond. This letter is merely an interim response" WHY DIDN'T THEY TAKE MY OFFER? ARE THEY ON DOPE? I realize an OC does not have to provide validation. But jeeze, they could have just told me that. By acknowledging my request because of the identity theft issue and then not following up leads me to believe they don't have the documentation. The Eq was being reported as "dispute resolution in progress" for a couple or weeks last month. But that went away when I had to contact Robbin Holland about that other stuff. The other reports came back verrified, not showing in dispute. This is the last item I have to deal with I have some ideas on what to do here. But I am feeling a little burnt out. I know Kbanger gave me a contact but now I am irritated and am thinking I don't really want to pay for something this old (7/97). Some fresh input would be appreciated thanks[/color]
