$100 credit limit. I told them not interested. should of i took it and just not used it. would it have increased
it would be increased, and rapidly. i think it took less than 23 months to reach $5200 limit on the card, but my girl spent alot there during that time. not sure why she needs $5200 limit, the apr is horrible, but it was a "starter card" for people starting over. Otherwise its pretty lame apr and rewards imo.
If you're trying to rebuild credit, you should probably have taken it and charged a few small items, paid it off. They may increase your limit then, or you could call to request an increase. A retail card is supposed to be good for the credit mix, so if you don't have a retail card it would help in that respect. It would count in your overall limits in computing ratios. Whether you should have taken it or not really depends upon your circumstances and what you are trying to accomplish.
They claim if I go to store and show photo id they would raise my limit since all internet apps are given low limits. Is this true? So should I re-open the $100 acct and let it increase? I don't really shop at Macys but wouldn't mind going there during there sales for macy card holders only which are good deals
My main question is does macys upgrade their card holder to macy visa if used right.. Or does it stay a store card I have 17k in credit with only 500 owed. I would ax my orchard 1500 no fee card in exchange for macy and nordstrom cards which at least give something back (and would equal $1100 in credit). All my other cards have gold benefits or miles except orchard and they wont raise limit without $$.
after a year of heavy spending you could get the visa. its extremely high apr. the nordstrom is alot easier to get with excellent scores. I have the platinum now, and the double points are cool. They are poor choices for anything else. The rewards hardly outweigh other cards. Remember every credit line you have will eventually be matched against your income to determine if you have too much credit. It will come back and haunt you some day when you have $250K in credit, and you get declined for insufficient income to open credit lines which sucks.
On another board they said the limit flucuates. u could have $1000 if u spend alot but when u dont they bring u down to 500?
