I applied for a macys card 2 weeks ago. They pulled EX (CE is 604 was 607 before inquiry). I received a denial letter today. The reason.....Too many public records?!!??

    On report:
    1 BK from 98
2 $50 "included in BK" medical collections
1 Repo should be "in BK" but not reported that way
    10 possitives
1 inquiry (past 6 months) maybe 4-5 in past 2 yrs
    39 % avail. credit (high I know)

Isn't the BK the only public record?? Possible reconsideration?

Too many public records can be one...just like you can have too many inquires...ONE

I had too much owed on "STORE CARDS" $2,425 WAL*MART MAXED...
    0.00% RATE...DUHHHHHH

But add SEARS...then it is <30%...

The gave me a small amount.
I have 2 medical collections and a few late (30 days)
    No BK
    Score mid 600

I thought Macys was BK friendly- kinda like target. Once you hit 600 they let you slide with low limit, guess I was wrong??

    Maybe because of combination
    Bk, Medical Collections & Repo

    Donna, NG-

Macy's is customer-friendly. Call the new accounts people and plead your case. They have flexibility.
