    Dear Joseph ******,

Your existing bad debt account is currently being reported to credit reporting agencies as a bad debt with a R-9 rating and a delinquent balance of $310.53.

In an effort to resolve your bad debt account, we are offering you the opportunity to re-establish your credit with FDS Bank. If you pay the existing balance of your delinquent account within an agreed to time period , a new account will be set up and a new credit card will be sent to you, provided there are no other delinquent FDS Bank credit card accounts in your name.

When the new account is opened , delinquent history associated with your bad debt account will not be changed. However , the credit reporting agencies to which we report will be advised in writing that your account has been paid in full and that a new account has been opened.

OK GUYS. I JUDT DONT GET IT. I DIDNT ASK FOR NEGOTIATIONS HERE.I SIMPLY ASKED FOR VALIDATION THAT THIS DEBT BELONGS TO ME.MAYBE THERE KILLING SOME TIME. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHERE I GO FROM HERE.

    THANKS -JOE-

They are offering you a paid/charge off. Don't accept it. It's as bad as a charge off. Send Estoppel letter tell them they have limited time left to send you validation of this account. Also offer a settelement without admiting anything, ask for deletation. Get something signed from Macy's :p

This is off course my humble opinion.

This is why I prefer starting with the CA first and leaving the oc out of the picture.
Doing it backwards like you did complicates things and makes it more confusing. Then too you have less protection of law in dealing with an OC rather than a CA.
Also you have alerted the OC to have the documents ready for the CA when they ask for them when you validate with the CA.
Since you started with the OC you are going to have to dispute now with the CA also.
Had you started with the CA chances are you would not have to dispute it with the OC also.
Going with the OC first can also lessen your chances of catching the CA with violations.
