I have a Macy's reward card with a cl of $4,000. I get one dollar reward for every $100 I spend . Now that doesn't sound like a lot but it adds up fast. I pay all of my bills per month with this card and of course I pay the pill off in full each month. I got 50 dollar gift certificate for the month of January today to spend on anything in Macy's!!! I average 5,000 per month in bills. That is almost 600.00 per year in gift certificates! Actually the amount of rewards one can earn is limitless cause let's say you buy something cost 4,000 and pay it off the same week, then buy another 4,000 and pay it off the same week, in the same month, they credit you for 8,000 in purchases even though your credit limit is only 4,000 . I hope I am not confusing ppl! They use EQ. Phyllis
Phyllis - Yes it is. So are most "rewards" cards- Macy's - 1% on Visa, 3%-6% on Macy's purchases Target - 10% rewards cert. for 1,000 points ($1=1pt @ Target, $2=1pt @ Visa) Shell MC - 1% on MC, 5% on Shell purchases There's lots others out there. Find the reward that works best for you, don't revolve a balance (apr%s are usually too high) and enjoy your "free" money/stuff! -mj
For this Macy's rewards card, do you need to spend a set amount on the regular Macy's store card to be invited to apply for it? For example, I have the Rich's store card (Rich's is one of Macy's sister companies) and they do have a Rich's Visa - but it's invite only after you spend $2500 per year on the store card. I don't think that the Rich's Visa has rewards, though. Is this Macy's reward card open to everyone or just Macy's charge card holders?
I think you have to be invited to apply. I think once you spend 1,000 a year with the regular Macy's card. they then will let you apply for the Visa. Phyllis
Wow. Only $1000? I wonder why Rich's minimum is so much higher. Hmmm... I like their Charter Club brand. Maybe I'll pay Macy's a visit. Thanks, Phyllis!
