Although we hear many complaints about their credit limits, they've always been good to me. My initial limit started @ $100, a little over a year later it's @ $2,500 (no, MP$40, I didn't have to re-marry to get the increase LOL). I called a few days ago and asked for a card upgrade. Yesterday, they upgraded my account to the Premier. I don't think I'll go for a Macy's Visa, as I already have an excessive # of CC tradelines, but it's nice to know they care. Saar
Hey Saar, Macy's has been very good to me also. I've been upgraded to the President's card, and my limit is 8,000 regular and 2,900 club. My biggest increases just came in the last year. I also started with a $100.00 limit in 06/98. They will give me a big credit line, but they won't upgrade me to the Visa. LadyC
Good to see you again, LadyC! A few Qs: 1. Do they change you account number when upgrading to a President's Club card? I wonder if it create a new tradeline on your report, or reports as an account opened since 6/98. 2. What's the difference between a regular limit and a club limit? 3. They won't make yours a visa - is that because of one's credit report? Sorry for all the Qs, but we don't have enough Macy's feedback around here Thanks, Saar
Saar, 1. Do they change you account number when upgrading to a President's Club card? I wonder if it create a new tradeline on your report, or reports as an account opened since 6/98. No, everything stays the same, you just get a new card with an expiration date. 2. What's the difference between a regular limit and a club limit? The regular limit is is for all charges, the club limit is for fine jewelry and the payments are 12 installments with no interest. 3. They won't make yours a visa - is that because of one's credit report? I guess it is because of my credit, there are no negatives. It's because I have enough bankcards already. LadyC
