Hip, hip hooray! The estoppel letter worked! The CA that was trying to collect the hospital bills that I have been bitching about DELETED ALL OF THEM - PLUS TWO MORE THAT WERE NOT MEDICAL RELATED that could not be validated! They sent me a certified letter stating that they had closed all the accounts and notified TU to delete. I pulled my TU report and they are all gone! The accounts manager at the hospital also just faxed me a letter saying that if I agree to make payments on a consistent basis (whatever I can afford - whether it is $5 or $50 a month) that they would not send the accounts out to any other collection agency, and that they would reduce the amounts owed by 25%. Now, had I just done that in the first place, I wouldn't have ever had to deal with any of this, but you live and learn. Thanks to everyone who has listened to me b*itch and moan about this.
