Background - Became waaaay behind on this account. In 11/02 signed up for their 6 month hardship program. Last payment due 4/8, then revert to current terms. EX - no status TU - 2 x 60 EQ - Consumer Credit Counseling, 120 days past due (R5), DOLA 4/2002, 2 x 60, 1 x 90 Just got off the phone with Idiot Ruth in the "Office of the President". 1. Since I'm in a payment program I get the lovely CCC badge. No prob, next month it ends. DOLA - she says it won't report a new DOLA until I get out of this program BSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! 120 days past due - Says that POS will stay on my report for the next seven years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have disputed it, they verify, I wrote them a letter, they told me they couldn't remove the inquiry (WTF), I PFB them, and I get Ms. Idiot Ruth. Attorney General? Failure to mark in dispute seems pretty lame.
Thanks Chi, But when I wrote them snail mail, a very nice letter, that is when I got the response that they could not delete my inquiry.
I still would try it again. I have read cases that it took as many as 5 goodwill letters to get the results you desire. I would change the wording a little and send it again. I have had success from calling the CRA for a deletion all the way to calling a CA and getting a deletion. All without using a single letter for those deletions. Give it another try.
