Well, I like to think of myself as making sure my friends are employed over the holidays, and I am not talking CHoD... The States Attorney asked for a stay until the USSC ruled on a case+30 days, oh, darn; as soon as it popped up that the USSC ruled, I filed a motion to unstay... Yesterday, the judge issued the order that the State's Attorney has until the Wed after Thanksgiving to file its brief, and the day after Christmas to file it's rebuttal briefs...
Loves this paragraph in the brief that the state's attorney just filed... In another envelope, an order that the brief from the Government was moot because the complaint was amended.
And a valuable lesson is learned... if suing the Federal Government, always include a non-monetary remedy to avoid months of arguing whether or not SOVEREIGN IMMUNITY applies...
