I can't believe the audacity of these people! I get a call from Gold Key Credit (which the rep admitted was owned by Marlin Integrated) about a collection for a utility company. Well, to make a long story short, I had sent a C&D letter to them, they at no time put this item in dispute on my credit reports b/c I received updated CR's about other disputes. Anyway, the rep continues to say that they received my C&D but that NCO does not own Marlin nor Inovision. I stated to her, then why when I contact Inovision they answer the phone NCO? Or the fact that everything referenced from Marlin & Inovision is NCO phone # and address? Or why is it that NCO, Inovision, & Marlin all are trying to collect on this same account? This is all BS to me, and I am just really tired of these people. What I want to do is just settle w/ the OC and let these people go "F" themselves, but what if the OC is not able to validate? I have sent all three ( Marlin,NCO & Inovision) validation letters, and I have not heard from them. I think my next move will be sending an Intent to Sue letter to Gold Key Credit (Marlin).

Sorry, but I had to vent! Any help?

We filed complaints with the Banking folks in Florida and PA over Medclr (another "affiliate"), the BBB, the FTC and anyone else we could think of! We received a letter in the mail that from NCO that actually indicated that they do own Medclr, et al.

If you notice, the bulk of the addresses used for amy Marlin company are NCO's in Pennsylvania. There are 2 problems with this. (1) None of the Marlin companies have registered as a business (or whatever PA requires), so they are not legally allowed to do business "in PA". (2) The FDCPA states that a collection agency must use it's OWN name when collecting. So NCO using Marlin names is illegal. I sent documentation to all 3 credit bureaus regarding this and CC'ed NCO. The result was deletion of the Medclr accounts from the bureau.

Well, I have a letter in my possesion with NCO, Marlin and Gold Key Credit all together on one-oh, I'm sorry FOUR letters. We all need to write to the AG of our respective states. I was trying to give them the 30 days required to validate. I 'm seeing NCO in court on the 6th of September. I'm suing them as Med Clr and Gold Key soon as well. But not until I inform the AG and the FTC. Email me if you woujld like copies of the letters. ll the better to burn their asses with, my dear.

Can you guys give me a fax number? I don't know why the scanner isn't working(boyfriend's fault), but I would like to get the letters out to you. I can fax them as soon as I have the number to send them to. Sorry for the delay.

I also contacted the FTC and BBB about medclr and NCO. Haven't heard anything back from anyone yet. One day NCO tells med it owns medclr...next time I talk to someone, she won't say anything but that they are collecting for them.

It does take some time to hear back, but you WILL hear from them. Make sure to file a complaint with the PA Attorney General (your state's AG, too). You'll hear back in around 30-45 days. By then they will have contacted them. When a company has all sort of government agencies coming at them at once, they will straighten up. The FTC can sue them and even order them to never work in debt collection again. So they damn sure don't want their attention.
