Husband and i are moving from NJ to Florida. My credit is really good (avg of my 3 reports was in the high 700's just a few months ago w/ no significant changes since then). DH's credit is trashed. He lost his job after 9/11, sank into a deep depression and was out of work for a while. He is working again, but most of his salary is going to child support (and arrears). Once that gets caught up, we will work on paying off his CC debt. During that time, we lived off my salary (with the exception of paying his credit cards which was debt he brought into the marriage). We've been in our current apartment nearly 4.5 years (since before his credit went down the tubes). Always pay our rent on time and are good tenants. Are we going to have a really difficult time renting an apartment? I have a job lined up in Florida, paying enough for us to live on. DH will find something once we get down there (but he works in retail, so his salary is low). I can get a letter from my FL employer verifying my salary, etc. We're going down this weekend to look at apartments and I'm really worried that it's going to be a huge struggle.
