Okay maybe not massive but, if inquires fall off after two years, wouldn't it make sense for me to apply like with four or five credit card companies and hope to land one or two....or more? Then not apply for anything for a couple years or so? I have one cap1 card (2250 limit) and am closing on our house in two weeks. once we close i want to get some more credit. So I thought I would close then immediately apply for a few other cc and see what happens. I'm sure after one or two inquires the other two or so will see I'm just trying to get credit and deny me but so what. As long as I wait until the inq fall off, what's holding me back? It's okay. Give it to me. What am I not thinking about here? At last check my scores were mid 600s.
If it were me, I'd hold off until my scores were around 680 or so. You'd have a much better chance of approval. Not saying you'd get denied, but the offers would be better. Save the inquiries for the GOOD stuff If you apply online to all these places on the same day, you probably wouldn't get denied because of "too many inquiries". I've heard of people who have done it. My husband, when his EQ score was inflated to 689 due to some disputes, was approved for $6125 in new credit in about 7 hours online.
