I have had several accounts that have not updated on Experian in months, but every time I disputed the balances, they deleted the whole tradeline and it never reappeared again. I was afraid this would happen again, but at the same time I wanted my accounts updated, so I rolled the dice.

I disputed online and added a comment on the disputes. I put in BOLD print, do not I repeat do not delete these accounts, these are current and open, just please correct the balances.

Well so far 2 have updated the balances, not sure if the creditors were fast or Experian acutally read what I wrote LOL. Either way I am happy:)

Good for you! I will take notes, as I need to dispute some balances with Experian.

    What IS their problem?????

    Thanks Marci:)

Yes I just went ahead and disputed 2 more balances and worded it the exact same way.

I did notice however that with my Citibank dispute, it took the full 30 days, I "think" Citi didn't reply as usual and Experian updated with the balance I gave them in the intial dispute, because it was an odd amount, and also I did just pay off Citi, so if they were recently contacted it should have been updated to zero, but it updated to the amount I specified.

    Great advice.

It is one of those things I always forget to do.
You wouldn't think you HAD to remind them,
Please DON'T delete my account, just fix it.
