Hi all, I was wondering for this card, do the points expire after 3 years or 5 years ? I spoke with an MBNA rep and he said 5 years, but regular Amtrak points expire after 3 years unless you go on a trip during that time period.
I think the points expire after 3 years according to the Amtrak website. I'm planning to use this card only for big purchases (>$2500) and then transfer the points to either United or Continental. I like the 1:1 transfer ratio. Very hard to beat this deal for no annual fee !!!

I might check into TRADING my QUANTUM for the AMTRAK card..it's 1.00% higher...but if I can do 1:1 trade to UNITED AIRLINES MILEAGE...it will be better than using FIRST USA and paying $60.00 for the PRIVILEGE... QUANTUM IS DOING NOTHING FOR ME!!!
George, Why don't convert your Quantum Card into Quantum Select Rewards Card? It can redeems point into travelers points or merchandise point. No annual fee. I have it converted mine into Quantum Select Rewards Card and initially APR is 12.99 or 13.99% fixed. After a month, I called to lower my APR into 10.99% fixed APR. George, It is possible to convert the Quantum into this card. I just did it today. I also didn't use Quantum for a while and they converted it with no problems.
I HAVEN'T USE MY CARD FOR YEARS...EXCEPT FOR BT'S... I used the QUANTUM card (for the first time to get the last of the CREDIT BALANCE off)...$20.92...
