If you call MBNA to apply, is that person an actual credit analyst who makes the decision on the spot, or they just take the information and submit your application?. Is there a number to call for status of an application?
Brad, The telephone number to call for the status of your application is 800-421-2110. In regards to instant decisioning, it depends on the type of application.. Most of the instant decision offers are by direct mail. When you call in response to the offer you will talk with the Inward Telesales Department , who will take all of the imformation and then will transfer you to a Credit Analyst who will make the decision with you right on the phone..
Thanks for the number I did not respond to an offer. I called 800-932-2775 and submitted an app over the phone. I guess from here, it goes to a credit analyst who will review the app and make a decision. I'll give them a few days. The MBNA 2002 annual report says that all apps are reviewed by a credit analyst who has the power to say yes, no, or maybe. Thats what I am counting on since I have a 8 year old BKO on file. But, I do have a 6 year history with lines from 1000 to 6000, stable job for over 7 years, and good income. So, yeah I know its a risk, but I think someone here was saying that after 7 years post BKO it is possibe to be considered. We'll see. Only reason I am somewhat optimistic is that given my situation, I was able to get BofA and Citi.
Brad J, I applied this past week and spoke to two persons. The first person was an info taker and the second was the credit specialist. The specialist pulled two reports and asked a few questions and than gave me approval, APR and CL. I tried to applied two summers ago with a bk-13 on file and was told no but they will consider a bk on file past the 7 year mark. When I applied this week my bk had fallen off. Hope this helps. Best regards, Mirage
Rubyjean, Are you sure 800-421-2100 is the right number? I called in and they said it still needed to be decisioned and that it takes 17-30 days. How do you get a hold of a credit specialist?
Re: Re: MBNA and rubyjean...Phone app Brad, It looks like your application is not an instant decision app.. Right now MBNA is a little backed up in regards to applications waiting to be decisioned. Most of the apps will have a decision with in 22 days.. If you just did the app with in the last 7 days, it is possible that it has not even been reviewed.. The number that is above is correct. It is the 24 hrs Customer Service Number and the reps do have access to see if the decision has been approved, Declined, or still in process. Good Luck
Re: Re: MBNA and rubyjean...Phone app I need to be patient then. Thanks for letting me know how the process works.
Re: Re: Re: MBNA and rubyjean...Phone app ALL I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT MBNA IS AM I EVER GOING TO GET A "PRE-APPROVED" CLI BEFORE THE 7th YEAR OF NONE IS GONE AND I GO INTO THE 8th YEAR OF NONE... ...AND if I can ever trade the QUANTUM card for AAA and/or AMTRAK that I was promised... All I had to do was pay the QUANTUM account in full...I DID... "DO YOU WANT TO APPLY FOR THOSE 2 CARDS" I have QUANTUM at 8.90%...CAN'T GET 7.90% OTHERS HAVE... Wife got an invitation for JOANN FABRICS @ 5.90% PURCHASES-BT-CASH ADVANCES... IF I CAN'T GET QUANTUM AT 7.90% I CAN'T GET JOANN FABRICS AT 5.90% EITHER!!!
Re: Re: Re: MBNA and rubyjean...Phone app Brad J, I called on the 6th and spoke to a MBNA info taker and than he transfered me to a specialist. The whole call took about 15-20 mins, the TL appeared on my EXP report the next day. On the other hand I have not heard back from Chase, US Bank or Bank One. Best regards, Mirage
