Has anyone received an MBNA card (any kind...secured, plat, gold, etc) after a BK? If so, how long after the BK? Score? Did you send it directly to their Reconsideration dept? I've done my research and found responses from an MBNA rep named RubyJean. Here's an example message... http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra....php?postid=92102&highlight=bk+mbna#post92102 Also, I saw a reference to the Avalanche card (MBNA) from George, but no definitive answer in this thread... http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra...id=137432&highlight=cards+after+bk#post137432 Here's info on the MBNA Reconsideration... http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra....php?postid=94044&highlight=bk+mbna#post94044 There is mention of post 7 years established credit in the messages, but I wanted to know if anyone received one as an exception to this 7 year "rule."
MBNA AVALANCHE CARD IS FOR NanaC... F.Y.I. I have NO BK... I was going to make her a AU so she could get a card with ***HER TEAM***
After a BKO.. you will need at least five to seven years of re established Credit with a Major Credit Card.. If you have had a BKO within the last 7-10 years, it would be difficult to get approved..
Thanks for responding, Ruby. I just sent you an email message regarding my history. One thing I didn't mention/ask... When you say "re-established" does that me ALL my credit history should be 5 to 7 years old? Let me elaborate on the email I sent you... I've had a Cap1 (classic which recently became gold) since Sep '98. Reminder, I discharged BK Ch7 in Apr '98. Cap1 Gold MC $1500 - Open since Sep '98 Since then all my other cards are about a year or less old... (age in months) Providian PayPal Visa - $1500 (8 months) Cap1 Kmart Gold - $4500 (2 months) Cap1 Platinum - $7500 (1 month) RNB Target Guest - $400 (14 months) RNB Target Visa - $500 (since 6/1/02 - few days old) Mortgage - $342K (6 months) If NOT all cards/credit needs to age 5-7 years, then I just need to wait a year for my Cap1 Gold. Is this correct?
Hey Ted, What are your scores? Were you approved instantly online for the Target Visa, or did they have to do the reconsideration? Just curious, my BK was in 99. Jamee
Exp score was around 654. They only pulled Exp. Regarding the other questions...refer to the following post: http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&pgnum=2&postid=186160#post186160
A mortgage is the easiest credit product to obtain...from MY experience, at least. 5/1 ARM at 6.94%, 10% down.
