It's already approaching 6 months since I've been using the Platinum Plus. I charge on it frequently and pay in full each month. Does anyone know how soon MBNA give automatic CL increases?
Re: Re: MBNA Automatic CL Increase? Unless You're GEORGE Factor. Definition: Other people seem to get credit limit increases, lower interest rates and better terms in general on their credit cards than GEORGE. Even though GEORGE has 20 or so years of perfect credit.
Re: Re: Re: MBNA Automatic CL Increase? MBNA's been my best card for CL increases. I started 3.5 years ago with $1000. I'm now at $20,300 and they've never made a dime off of me. My B&N mastercard has a lousy APR so I pay it off monthly and use the gift certs. MBNA seems to love that I never carry a balance... Even when my scores have tanked b/c of balances elsewhere, they still gave me auto-increases.

I was paying it off every month but never got an increase until a year after having the card (unlike the 6 months for some). Then I started revolving $100 and I got an increase. I have done this 3 times over the last 9 months and I have increase my limit by $1500. I am tring it again this month to see if I get another increase. Willis
Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA Automatic CL Increase? They make money EVERY TIME you swipe their card for purchases. They might not charge you the interest rate, but the MERCHANT pays MBNA a fee. Trust me, MBNA is making money from you USING their card.

I started out at $6500 and then I got a CLI to $7500 six months later, then another CLI six months later so CL is now at $9500.....Im not all that happy w/MBNA they WILL and DO pull HARD's when they FEEL like it....Just for an AR.....so beware!!!!!!!!!! I started at 5500 and have 1.7% on BT's for 6 months. Cash too, which is nice. What I would like is an APR reduction after 6 months. Can that happen? Who decides
Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA Automatic CL Increase? I got mine reduced from 8.9 to 7.9 a year after I opened the account. I called to get it. The regular CSR wanted me to open a new account because it had been over 6 months since opening the account. HTH
Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA Automatic CL I Well, I saw this thread and decided to check my MBNA account. ANOTHER CL increase. They occur in June and December for me (acct opened in NOV 96). As long as use my card once in the 6 month period, the increase my limit. Started out with $1500 in Nove 96, am now up to 17,500 CL. I have also gotten my APR down to 8.9% fixed.

Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA Automatic CL I MBNA doesn't do normal platinum credit cards, they are the affinity kings and every card has some association with a brand name or organization. Just choose from the website or call and ask what else they have. I have the San Francisco Giants MC.
