I called them again to see if I can get my Quantum APR reduced. They pulled hard on TU without telling me. This is probably last time they did it to me. When I get my statement I'll pay it in full and tell MBNA bye...bye...FOREVER>>>>>>>
APR REDUCED=HARD??? NO WAY!!! When you close it...MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM THE ONLY REASON YOU ARE CLOSING IT IS BECAUSE THEY PULLED A CREDIT REPORT INQUIRY FOR THE INTEREST RATE REDUCTION WAS 100% WRONG...AND IT COST YOU THE ACCOUNT!!! That is as bad as the insurance companies "SEEING" how you drive by your credit report!!!
George, I did not get reduction. She went ahead to tell me same old BS that 9.99 is the best rate available. I said my buddy has 8.99 and she was like...that is not possible...she said we do not trick our customers...yeah right...
I paid with hard on TU just by calling and asking for the info...maybe they will pull hard now every time I call them...he..he...it looks like it cost you when you call MBNA...so folks DO NOT CALL MBNA...they are pulling hards like CRAZY>>>>>>>>>
Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful JUST DUG THIS UP!!!!!!! WIFE'S ADVERTISEMENT... JO-ANN FABRICS CREATIVE CASH CARD (MBNA) 0.00% TILL 2004 "GO-TO" 7.90% IN BLACK AND WHITE AND GREEN AND RED AND PURPLE!!!
Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful TRADE THE QUANTUM CARD FOR THE JO-ANN'S FABRICS CARD...I WOULD (if they refuse to change the QUANTUM interest rate)...QUANTUM is no big deal anyway!!!
Re: Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful Thanks George...I believe you...but MBNA rep does not believe us...so I'll give up on that one...I am now affraid to call them to close the account...they will pull hard again...I am paranoid now with MBNA...
Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful NO PP FOR ACCOUNT CLOSURE BY ANY STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION!!!
Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful I think I know why she pulled hard. I told her they are not competetive with rates and that I got much better rates and promotionals from other issuers. It was her intention to lower my score by pulling hard and that way lower my chances for better deals from other issuers.
Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful Great, I just got an MBNA card.....no i'm worried.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful Don't worry...as long as you don't call them you'll be fine. But I've also heard they are pulling hards if they don't like your transactions or how you use the card...just be very careful with them...really...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful Y'all can have mine. I'll stick with the Citi and AmEx.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful I closed Citi because they were screwing me with reporting. When the balance was high they reported quickly. When my balance was paid off or very low it took them 3-4 months to update with CRA's. Amex seems to be OK now. My favorites are Chase and Bank of America.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful As long as you don't call them you might not be fine. Don't use your card too much or get your balance too high (maybe because you have a BT rate). They will jack your rate in a heartbeat and say it was because of your credit report. But then they'll refuse to give any other information. You might try calling the CRA and telling them it should be a soft inquiry. Tell them it's obvious that they are reporting, so it should be an soft. Sometimes they'll change it, sometimes not. What do you have to lose?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful I am going to remove the inquiry anyway by pulling WK daily...that's not the issue... I just learned the lesson with MBNA...do NOT call...do NOT ask the question...do NOT use the card... I hope they will learn the lesson too when I close the account...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful Oh now, that's just fu***ng wonderful! DH has an MBNA Platinum Plus with a %14.99 APR (don't ask) and he was just about to call them for a rate reduction. I guess we'll pass on that one and just pay this cash cow off and then close the account. MBNA did jack his rate once to %20-something but they caved in after getting a sob story of a nasty divorce. Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: MBNA cardholders...be very careful MBNA did the worst to my girlie. She had a card for a year without any activity. They sent her a letter stating that they were offering her their 'credit protection plan' for $9.95 and if she did not respond, they would consider her signed up for it. She did not respond, as she was on vacation, and billed her the amount. She had a 10K limit. She got a statement that claimed she was over the 30 day limit and called MBNA. They lady she talked to said that she would cancel the credit protection but had to report her derog. Is that IRONIC or what? After 15 years of perfect credit, they reported her delinquent to the big 3, due to her inability to pay for the credit protection plan. This took over a year to clean up and remove from her reports. In the meantime she closed the account. To this day, although they got rid of the late remark, they are insisting that the account was closed by them. EXP verified that the account was closed by the grantor, which is hurting her chance for a mortgage. Not to mess with this thread, but I had to air my beef with MBNA, as they have been horrible to us.
