For those of you who have more than one MBNA account - if you were receiving regular increases on your first card, did that pattern continue after the second account was opened? I am asking because I was on a 3-month/$500 "schedule" for about a year. In May, instead of the increase I was expecting, I received an offer for another account. I'm wondering if those increases will continue now that I have two accounts, or do they figure that should cover it for the next few years :)

Not an issue really, but the curiosity is killing me!

My husband has had an MBNA Visa since 1993. He filed bk in '93 but kept that card. It had a $1,000 limit back then.

Since '93, he's never received any increase. It's still today at $1,000. Perfect payment history and everytying.

    Do they normally automatically increase?

    Hi Shirley,
I've had my acct since 1998. My starting limit was $5500, and I requested $500 after the first year (approved). A year after that is when the $500/3 month thing started. I didn't get anything automatic before then.

I have the same situation with MBNA. I have only received a 300 increase - after a hard inquiry - in over 2 years. They started me with 1000. Never late, always more than minimum. Does someone know what's up?

Something is definitely up. I had a card with them, $1500 limit, since 11/99. 13.99 APR, and just today got a notice that they reviewed my Equifax report and are raing the APR to 22.9%!! I called and asked for the reason, since I have always paid early and well over the minimum due. They told me to request a copy of my Equifax, but said it is mainly due to high balance to credit ratio. ( My husband has two cards, huge limits, sizeable balances, but not over 50%, I am AU on them) I said I would close the account before I pay that kind of interest, and they pretty much said fine, do that.

Im debating closing it this month, I am so aggravated over it!
