Hello There, I am having a sad day today... MBNA close my Apple LOC today because of a prior account back 12 years ago.... I guess they did a credit report pull and saw the old account from 12 years ago and they also said that I have too many accounts with balances now so they are closing it oh well the apr isn't that great anyways is like 17.99% and I really don't see any apple products I like right now... so I will keep you guys posted to see what happens... I just hate the comment closed by credit grantor instead of closed by consumer... Thx, Kev
kev- that's unbelievable. in any case - as my grandmother would say - f**K em! what kind of dumbass excuse is that anyway? 12 years ago???? if that was important to them - why did they give you the loc in the first place? If the loc is paid in full - it might be an idea to politely call them and ask if it can be reported as "closed by consumer." On the other hand - I'm not sure that "closed by credit grantor" is that terrible if you don't have any baddies on your report. Kev - just curious - is your utilization very high?
kevin, I'm sorry to hear it. They closed your account because you had bad account with them 12 years ago. They didn't give you a chance like American Express and it is their loss.I have Apple LOC for over 2 years and they give me pretty good rate like 10.96%. I used it for several times for financing Apple Computer. I'm thinking to use it to buy new iPod. Ron.
Hello Ron, MarkLA, You guys are super cool to try to cheer me up after this.. my pals on this board we known each other for a while now.... well I guess is their loss that they don't want me as a customer... my utilitzation is like only 20% the last time I check and all my accounts are current I have no baddies on any of the 3 as of the last time I checked... I feel better already with such cool caring pals from the board! the apr that they gave me is high anyways... 17.99% I was kind of wondering about that cause I have a good credit score but yet such a high apr... they should'nt have even approve it in the beginning but oh well is the past now tomorrow is another day... sorry for the "closed by credit grantor" but you can get another line of credit somewhere else, with a better rate, and a company that isn't in to jerking their customers around. I think MBNA is in big trouble, all this stuff I'm hearing......
