Hi, I was wondering for those who have this card, are the points updated on a monthly basis or on a quarterly basis ? Thx.
Just called the rewards customer service number and they said that the rewards balance is updated on a monthly basis, but the rewards statement is sent out on a quarterly basis. I don't think the statement is really necessary because you can view and redeem points online. Nice program for merchandise rewards, but IMHO Starwood is better for the airline miles because Starpoints never expire.
Does anyone know if you get the same number of points if you pay off the balance every month ? On the cardratings site some people posted that they are only getting 1/2 point per dollar for paying off the balance and only get one point per dollar after carrying a balance. My last payment just posted so I'll see what they do with the points.
Steve, It appears I'm getting one point per dollar. I got the card in March and have paid off repeatedly before receiving the statement, sometimes within days of the purchase. I'm still getting full points for this. I can't verify if I'm getting double points for paying my earthlink bill with it. I'm going to look into this further.
Just checked the elite rewards website and my points were recently updated so it looks like it is 1 point per dollar even if you pay off the balance. I also got the 500 bonus points for becoming a new cardmember. I'll use this card on a regular basis and try to get the rate lowered from 12.99% to 9.99%. Anyone know after how many months I should ask MBNA for a reduction in the interest rate ? I just paid off my first bill a few days ago. Thanks.
Give it some time...I finally got QUANTUM lowered to 9.99%...BUT I HAVEN'T GOT ANY LIMIT INCREASE IN 6+ YEARS!!!
Steve, I should say you have to wait at least six months. They count on the history of your account and they always mention when you have the account. The longer you have the account, the lower rate you're going to get. It doesn't matter you're converted from the other type of theaffintiy card. Ron.
