I have been lurking here since about December. This is my first initiated post. Chimed in a couple of times but am mostly listening.

After reading about everone's good luck with sob story late removals, I have only 1 late listed on 2 reports. I called MBNA the begining of Jan about a late in 8/97 and they gave me Customer service address to write to, sent the "sob" letter indicating I never knoew it happned and surprise to me, please remove so my credit isn't destroyed. Never heard back from that address, sent to a second one listed on my statement.

Got a leter back from Sarah Smookler, Cusotmer Satisfaction Dept. Said we report your history like other lenders and a review of our records indicates no error has been made in reporting therefore the delinquncy on your report is valid and will not be removed. Suggests I add a consumer statement to my file if I want. They also sent the corresponding months statements with the payment past due highlighted. I have had this account since 1995.

Anyone have any suggestions to follow up on this. I am really bummed after everone else's success.

You and I are on the same boat. I have sent about 3 letters and pfb still, no luck. I am too seeking help/guidance from anyone that was successful in getting the lates removed.

I just got off the phone with MBNA because they are incorrectly reporting on my Equifax report. They were wrong on all reports but disputing them corrected it on 2 of the reports. Equifax has verified twice now. The customer service rep says that they'll correct since my other two CRA reports are correct. I didn't send her copies and just gave the info verbally. I wonder if they'll do it.

Highlighting it dosn't mean it's correct. The real highlight would be correct information.
