Can the LOC's for say, apple.com or gateway.com, eventually be used as a plain ol' LOC or combined with an existing card?
says you can cash advance on the apple site. I was wondering myself if you can use them at other "participating" retailers the use their financing. (without getting nailed for a BT fee)
I noticed that too. I know MBNA has never given me Gateway financing. It would be sweet if I could zip over with this and get their JVC video camera special.
My questions about the Apple LOC question is if it can be combined with my MBNA Quantum card to increase the credit limit soon after I apply and get approved for the LOC? Has anyone done this with the Apple LOC? I assume people have done this with the plain ole MBNA LOC from searching the threads. MBNA has been very stingy about credit limit increases and I am considering this route to get the increase. Please let me know.
sam, I have an Apple Instant loan account and you can called them to deposit fund from Apple Loan to your checking account or write access checks to your checking. They charge you 3% transaction charge for check access. I think the Gateway will be the same. author_22, One time they told me you can close Apple Loan and combine LOC with Quantum or other MBNA credit card account. Ron.
I wonder if I can keep the interest rate on my Barnes and Noble preferred student? It's about half what the Apple LOC is.
author_22, Last time they convert my Garfield Platinum Plus into Quantum card and they changed the terms to Quantum . You can't keep Barnes&Nobles pts anymore as soon as they changed it. Ron.
Hmmph, never mind. I love the BN points too much. Guess I'll use the LOC to pay down other sub primers to reduce revolving debt better.
You can combine a MBNA LOC and a MBNA CC. But they will do a hard inquiry. I did mine recently and got MBNA line increased. Cypri
and you get to keep the rate of the CC. I have 0% until april and 9.9% afterwards and I exchanged the 19.99% loc for the 0% on my CC Cypri
for fiance and me, MBNA pulls TU for new cc applications. TU and/or EXP for credit limit increases (sometimes just EXP, sometimes EXP and TU)
