The account history is shorter than my Quantum Card and it has opened since 3/2001(less than a year). I don't understand why they can't give me a lower rate since I get it for my Barnes & Nobles Plat. Plus MC Card. 13.99 fixed rate for new customers have Quantum Card without invitation. 11.99% fixed is preferred rate for existing customer with perfect payment history. Ron.

Re: MBNA no CL increase, apr'd for Of course they can lower it to the 9©9%© It will take either: 1© Talking with MBNA Retention; or 2© Converting the Quantum to Platinum Plus ¥they are more lenient in lowering rates on that one¤© Once you have the 9©9%, you can convert back to Quantum© Saar
Re: MBNA no CL increase, apr'd for Saar, From my past experience, a 9.9% Platinum Plus gets you a 11.99% or 12.99% Quantum card when switched. I tried to do the same thing when I had my 9.99% Platinum Plus. The 9.9% was only available by invitation. Tried retension as well. Now things may have changed but my friend tried the same thing. No go. He even closed his 9.99% PP when they refused to give him a 9.99% Quantum. He had has his card something like 5 years, awesome payment history and a high credit limit. These are my experiences. Someone else may have better luck.

Re: MBNA no CL increase, apr'd for I must have missed that posting. I always try to read the Quantum postings. They may have changed their policy on it or the right cards were played to get it done. Do keep in mind, I had a 9.99 Plat Plus that I did convert to Quantum at 9.99 but I had an invitation at 9.99. Maybe I posted that I upgraded and didn't mension the caveat. When I tried the exact same thing without the invitation, I was denied. So, who knows. Hopefully someone else is successful and can share their story.

I just didn't want to give people false hope being he is the only one (or one of the few) that posted success in getting the 9.99 w/o invitation. Thanks for your contributions. I have a go to rate 9.9% that I don't want to lose if I transfer now and get a higher rate with the Q card. As for those perks, could I get courtside or front row seats with the Quantum Card similiar to AMEX Gold Rewards Plus with the Concierge service, I want to attend the Laker Game in Miami preferably behind the Laker bench and I definitely would like to get SHAQ's autograph, don't mind me, its just a thought!
