Hey everyone From what I read here, lots of folks say that MBNA reports aus on credit reports...I got my girlfriend to put me as an AU but it hasn't shown up after 3 months or so....so I call mbna and they said that the card WON'T show up, and the only way for that to happen is if I'm a co-applicant. Doggone! Is there anyway to encourage them to do this nicely? I was really hoping for a lift from this. gat
My husband was an AU on my MBNA account, and it always reported on his reports, up until I closed it. Maybe it is something new?? We actually requested a card in his name; maybe that's where the AU deal started to report (the weird part is they never had his ssn get it got on the CRAs).
I added a friend as an authorized user for my MBNA and never have been reported to any bureau. Try Citi or Bank of America. they report.
I think if you actually request a card then they ask for the social security number and then it is reported. My spouse has been an AU on my MBNA since 1990 and it shows up every month. In fact to tell you how much the system is screwed, most of my spouse's credit is on my accounts as an AU and his credit score is higher than mine!! Phyllis
