I just received an offer to apply for the MBNA Platinum - but it just looks like a mass mailing becauase the card would have my brokerage account logo on it! My broker obviously sold my name to MBNA without them having true knowledge of my credit history!

Does anyone out there with a BK, have an MBNA (platinum) card?

I have been turned down by just about all the prime lenders due to my 92 BK, but I have yet to apply for an MBNA card!

I would hate to waste an inquiry to just have them so "no" due to your bankruptcy!

    Thanks,

    Chet

MBNA does TWO inquiries. At least in '98 they did. One, looking at my old reports, was on EX and the other on TU. I was turned down for 'too much credit available' and that was how I found out that another person who has the same name as I had ended up on my profiles!

Chet: I have a bk-13 on my record so I do not even try to apply with the prime CC.

On the subject of the MBNA, on their website when you apply they have a section that requires you to answer two questions- one of the questions is that if you ever bk.

    Best regards,

    Chet,

    Don't apply.

In January and February, I was being bombbarded with ads from MBNA with a teaser rate of first 2.9%, then 1.9%. I called and a rep assured me that my app. would be seriously considered. I told her that I felt my credit did not warrant this. She sweet talked me and I applied over the telephone.

I was immediately rejected with a smart aleck letter from MBNA. I called MBNA back and told them to delete me from their mailing list. I have not received anything from them since.

This month, I got the hard inquiry on Experian deleted. So it is as if I never applied.
