Does anyone have this card? How hard is it to get and what about credit increases? Did they send you a pre-approval in the mail or not. Someone with the card please let me know if you had the MBNA Platinum Plus which I have now with a 12,500 credit limit. Thanks
Since I have a Fidelity Brokerage account, I was sent an offer for the Quantum card issued by MBNA but it has Fidelity Investments on the front. I guess it's a credit card they they offer for Fidelity customers. "I understand that if this credit card application is approved for an account with a credit line of less than $10k, then I will be issued either a Platinum Plus card with a credit line of at least $5k or a Preferred card with a credit line of at least $200." No $200 was NOT a typo. It was nice of them to send this offer to me but I'm sure I would get declined very quickly. I check www.millcbs.com and MBNA pulls either TU or EXP in CA. I could apply and see if I can get lucky???? Maybe if I do a BT they might let me slide??? I can always dispute the inquiry if it hits EXP. I don't care if it hits TU. Humm...now there's a thought!
George, First, I want to congratulate you on breaking the 700 FICO mark. Second, how does someone with a FICO under 700 get a MBNA Quantum card? All my FICO's are over 700, I have never paid a soul late in my life, I have 27 trade lines, and make over 125K per year. But, yet I fight to get credit line increases from Amex and MBNA. Please, reveal your secret or email me and name your price. Thank you.
I have been PLAYING the credit card "GAME" since 1978...NEVER LATE... My F.I.C.O. is only 704 because I have problems with charging "LARGE" amounts and paying off...but it always shows high balances because I just charge more the next month... I have had MBNA AMERICA for almost 10 years...although they "LOST" some of my years... Some of my credit line was due to combining other cards they bought the accounts for... And the rest has been "PUNISHMENT" because they did something STUPID... ****BUT I STILL CAN'T GET CAPITAL ONE OR CITIBANK****
George, Any recommendations on how to get some real good cards with decent limits, that report those limits? If,you would also be so kind, any advice on what I should apply for after my move next week and how long I should wait to reply? Thank you.

The only thing I have got this year was the QUANTUM card...everything else DENIED... I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET A FLEET TITANIUM 0.00% 6 MONTHS THEN 9.99% FIXED...BUT I THINK I IMAGINED THAT!!! (PLATINUM UPGRADE). I have noticed that MANY people with WAY LOWER than 704 F.I.C.O. and lower than $XXX,000.00 income have WAY BETTER LUCK THAN I DO!!! So I'm not the best person to ask...
The Quantum is my next credit goal. I'll try getting it by applying for 2 Platinum Plus cards, combining & upgrading. But it may take some time till I qualify. Saar
I have plat plus at 12.99 and thought about asking for the quantum but noticed that the APR would be higher. Anybody get a quantum with a rate this low or lower?
Mine is at 13.99. I'm kind of annoyed that all the platinum plus applications now say 12.99. Why should the Quantum be higher?
This card is hard to get,they issue a minimum of 10K if it is an invitation that you may have received from MBNA.They also offer upgrades to select platinum plus card members but some do get declined for the upgrade offer.Well heck there are some perferred card holders of MBNA that did receive an upgrade offer for MBNA's platinum plus card,and they get turned down can't figure that one yet.Interest rates can be as low as 11.99 ongoing rate with 13.99 being the maximum ongoing rate for now.I wonder what the chances are that this quantum card would carry a 20% interest rate for certian card holders?It seems like platimum is losing its status with MBNA.What is next for MBNA to raise their bar again on special credit cards?Would it be a shazam card?A card with a big bolt of lightning imprinted on the card making it the best card where no other card would even come close to what it has to offer like getting a credit of $100.00 to the card plus enjoy a 0% offer for 1 yr on top of that.Who knows what card that they will come out with next.I just had to joke about the shazam card.
