mbna verified wrong acct #s as mine

    More Bozos -N- A$$wipes

    I have contested this account -wrong acct #'s listed on my CRA's - sent numerous letters and went online to dispute - keeps coming back verified no change...

    how can it be verified when the account numbers are wrong

    the first eight digits match up but the last eight dont - SOL expires in Dec 2003 - but need to have it delet'd so I can get my mortgage

    any advice would be helpful

    The account number of the CR is usually scrambled to prevent fraud. That could be why it keeps coming back as verified.

    well none of my other trade lines are scrambled

    if this is true (acct being scrambled) then how can someone dispute it

    Any chance the account# your trying to remove is obsolete because of Lost or Stolen, or is it just reporting wrong...my okd wrong acct#'s still verify even tho the actual #'s have changed..

    all my TU account#'s appear in full, the other 2 CRA's wont show the last few digits

    But still if that number is different than the account number how are they verfing
    the account?
