A quick backstory: My closed MBNA account has so many lates, it's pitiful. Some of them are no doubt legit, but checking my old statements I found months where I'd paid being marked late. I called them about it, and they said they didn't know what was wrong, but I needed to write them a letter. I decided to use PFB. Anyway, while writing the PFB letter, I was checking the report so I could include specific instances where this had happened, I noticed that, for some reason, many of the months seem to be reported in both the 30 and 60 days late sections. Even more odd is one situation where I was marked 90 days late one month, 60 days late the next month, and then 120 days late the month after. Another where I went from 120, to 90, back to 120. This is just really odd. Any ideas what I should do about this? Just standard dispute with the CRA's? Work with MBNA about it? I've had good payment history on the account for a year now, and was just about to pay it off this month. It's just a little more odd than the normal "not mine" or "never late", kinda not sure what to do, and if I could use this to my advantage somehow. -- cnswift
I have was wondering the same thing....would MBNA do a goodwill adjustment? Anyone have any idea about this?
I'm not sure if MBNA has much good will towards me these days. This past year my payment history has been perfect. Prior to that, well, not so perfect. And from 3-5 years ago, downright pitiful. I've written them a PFB asking for a goodwill adjustment nonethless--figure it can't hurt. I haven't actually informed them of the unusual way the lates are reporting, though, cause I'm trying to figure out some way to use it my advantage. Just can't think of any way yet, hehe. -- cnswift
