I've just called two different reps @ MBNA to try and convert my GoldRserve LOC to one of their credit cards and I was told "No can do". They both told me that I would have to apply for a credit card then I would be able to combine the two but that I can't convert my loc.To convert the Option account to the Reserve was no problem. Should I be speaking to somebody else other than the front line reps about this? -Om
Yep, That's the number to call. The "Tele-Sales" dept. will do it. If they say you can't, scale up to a supervisor. I did this as recently as a month ago with Tele-Sales. An account manager told me that many reps were confused on whether you could convert a Gold Reserve to a CC - but she said that if I got resistance, to get a supervisor. I didn't need a supervisor when I dealt with Tele-Sales. It's a totally different (better) dept. than regular customer service.
Yes indeed......Thank you for the help. I called and the rep I spoke with told me the same "can't do that". I asked if I, or she, could speak w/ a supervisor or team leader about this "because my friend just did this two weeks ago". I was put on hold and she came back and was very polite and and said that she was mistaken and that they could do that for me. I got the elite rewards card but not the platinum because the loc was not the 5k required to qualify. -0m
