I've searched the boards and have seen that many of you have had luck getting reconsideration with MBNA. I received an offer for a 5.9APR card. I used to be an MBNA customer several years ago. They pulled Experian which has zero negs. I was declined b/c of my high utilization. (It's at about 75 percent I believe but Cap1 doesn't report the credit limit amount) I explained that it was due to a year and a half unemployment in 2002/early 2003 and orthodontic bills that I put on my credit cards. I want the card so that I can transfer my 24.99 Fleet with a 4000 balance over to the MBNA card. Do you think I should do an MBNA planetfeedback reconsideration or is it hopeless for me?
i also recieved that offer in the mail. did they deny you right over the phone? or did you need to wait? I have been considering applying, but have just sat on it for now.
I applied by phone. The credit analyst I spoke with told me that my utilization was too high. She asked a billion questions.. How much do you have in your bank acct? How much do you pay on your current credit cards? What did you use this cc for? What was the balance used on X credit card? How long have you been employed? what kind of work do I do? etc etc
same here, MBNA always asks those questions, I had to explain to them that I was an AU on an account that was 100% utilized, and that the debt was NOT mine, took a while but I goit the card, they have been the strictedt to get a card with, well besides the JERKS at Bank One
The thing that sucks is I had a card with them before. i already have Chase, BankOne, Cap1, and Fleet - All Plat. Any other tips for doing my reconsideration folks ? TIA!
Eriq, they pulled EX which was 695 and had 5 inqs. Yeah, they approved, but hit with 12.9%, got 1.7% for 6 months on BT's though.
