That is humorous, but valid. MBNA was right to ask where the ATM funds went to, since it is usually a breach of contract to use credit card money for gambling. This is Nevada, the brothel probably did have slot machines, and MBNA had no way of knowing whether the money was used for gambling.

However, MBNA should have it's pants sued off (no pun intended) for telling the man's wife that brothel information, if it was an individual account.

Sounds like a script perfect for "Ally McBeal". :)

It is not a breach of the contract to withdraw cash from an ATM. The reason credit card companies do not want the card used for gambling is because of the disputed transactions. A cash withdrawal eliminates that issue. I think they should sue MBNA,

Since when was it a breach of contract to use a card
for gaming? They allow purchase of chips etc buy
charging for a cash advance or to be exact a pseudo
cash transaction. This is at land based casinos. Gambling at online "casinos"(I use the term loosely)
has sometimes been stopped due to lawsuits by
people who charge up their lines and lose, then
claim they should not have been allowed to gamble.
Providian was sued by someone who did this a while
    back.

Thanks for the clarification, BigH, between land based casinos and online gambling sites. I guess I still think that credit card issuers should not knowingly finance gambling purchases/withdrawals - due to the high rate of addiction associated with the practice.

    Thanks again,
