    Hello everyone!

I've had a MBNA acct. for about 3 yrs. and about 6 mos. ago I closed it because I had joined a cccs (big mistake). Anyway, I have been paying down my balance, I still owe about $3500, but my apr is killing me (23.99). I would like to lower my apr and reopen my acct.
What should I do to lower this apr and when should I try to reopen my acct.?

All you can do is ask MBNA if you can re-open the account.

    CONGRATULATIONS ON DUMPING CCCS...

I had the exact same situation...I was unable to get MBNA to budge on the APR, but did get them to suppress all overlimit fees.. Also, they will insist on doing a hard inquiry to reopen a suspended account. (Your account is suspended if you do a credit counseling service), and if your credit isn't great, they will deny you..

    WWWWWoooohhhoooo!!!

I called and was told that my apr will be lowered to 20.99and try again in 3 mos for a lower apr.
The rep confirmed to me that my acct had not been closed, it's still open. He said for the 2-3 mos. that I was under the cccs, the acct. had a special status but it no longer does. He said if it were closed he would not have been able to lower my apr.

    Yes!!!Yes!!!
