Yes I have. I applied (from an invitation) for their Fidelity Quantum card and was denied. After speaking with a board member, they convinced me (2 months later) to fire off a PFB. I did this on a Friday. Exactly a week later someone called and left a message. They were closed when I got home so I was going to call them on Monday and THEY CALLED ME! I explained to them about my credit (paid student loan collections, paid chargeoff) and he asked me a few employment questions and how much money I had in my Fidelity account. All he wanted was to verify my employment (I gave him the number to call) and he needed a statement verifying the funds in my Fidelity account faxed to him (which I did). He said that once he received that, he would approve me for Platinum Plus w/ a $5500 limit. MBNA started reporting the account like 5 days later! I got my card shortly after that.

In regards to my credit report...when I spoke with the consumer advocate, he was looking at my report (TU) right then and there (took me a minute to figure that out when he talked about a paid collection for a dentist bill that I knew was only on TU). Funny thing is that they initially pulled Experian. I think I got lucky becaues my TU report wasn't as bad as my Experian at the time. If he would of pulled Experian, I probably wouldn't have a card today.

Just write them a letter asking them to give you a chance. Explain briefly why your credit is the way it is (i.e. ex wife screwed me over, etc.). Tell then that you think they are a great company and hope that they give you a chance with a starter card with a $500 limit (that's what I asked for). If I can find my reconsider letter, I'll post it.

This is why the 7 year clock is ridicules!
To only consider your accent past while ignoring your current status is outrageous!

Of course it's senseless as it has nothing to do with credit worth.
The only purpose is to keep scores artificially low as long as they can so they can gouge you with bogus rates.

It don't take no Einstein to figure that one out.
