Got declined for HD. Noone at their credit center could manually review/override. Got the Monogram bank # and left a message. But I talked to Lowes (they also use MCCBG) and was told noone w/BK w/in 7 years and that Lowes cannot manually override the computer anymore. The computer is God w/them.

Anyone have any different experiences? RECENTLY, that is. I was told this is a new system (having no manual overrides).
    Feedback?

Exactly what I experienced w/them ... which is WEIRD, since they sent me a pre-approved HD card ($2k), a pre-approved wal-mart store card (I didn't take it), and a pre-approved Exxon card (I did take that one, and closed it w/in a year).

In fact, my HD limit is now up to $8k (1.5 years later)...

But they wouldn't approve a Mens Wearhouse card despite several phone calls (they have a great rewards program). The person I spoke with just kept repeating, "we can't approve credit if a BK shows on your report" ... when I kept hounding her - "you have already given me over $10k in credit ... any way to take $1k off of my HD account or switch my Exxon card over and start a Mens Wearhouse account?"

    No dice. Computer won't budge.

Stupid system. I only use HD when I get a 0% for 6 months deal. I'll just keep it to show a good debt/limit ratio, but otherwise, I'm not a major fan of GE/Monogram.

How did you get the HD card w/a BK then?
Did you get the preapproved before or after the bk?

And if you got the preapproved after the bk, I guess it really is preapproved?

I got approve with Home Depot when I had a couple of charge-off accounts. I got approved because I had pre-approved application that come with my Exxon card.

I was pre-approved 3.5 years post BK. They didn't run a credit check, but do run "soft" inquiries every 4 months or so. Credit score was 685 back them (BK didn't include consumer debt- just medical stuff, so my credit report is stellar, except for the 1 public record)

I guess MCCBG they approved credit very easy and they do account review on your credit from Equifax every three months.
