I have two debts reporting on my Equifax report from Medclr. The "Date of Last Activity" on both of these in 11/96. The SOL on these are 11/03. However, when I tried applying for a mortgage loan in February, of course this showed up. Numerous online disputes with Equifax has gotten me nowhere. I also with the CRRR route and Equifax basically gave me the same result. I tried calling this company on the phone and actually found out then that it was NCO, however it is reported on my report as Medclr. I found out that the both debts are for medical services which my insurance companies never paid any claims on. One of these, I never received a single bill. On the phone, I requested proof of the alleged debt, which of course, I never got. I was resigned to just pay the thing off, but here is the thing that I noticed this morning. My credit report is showing the items 4/02 on the "Date Reported" section on the Equifax report. The "Previous Status" section is giving me an O5 rating in 3/02,2/02,1/02. If they wouldn't send me proof of the "alleged debt" when I called them, what are my options? I hate to open a can of worms, but why pay for something that's going to fall off next year anyway? But, I am also thinking that it is time for NCO to go down.
They probably purchased these debts. Send validations to both, guaranteed they won't answer. They denied receiving my first validation even though I had the green card. I immediately sent out the estoppel and intent to sue. I haven't heard a word from them except they reported to CRA's under their other names after the fact. TU deleted last month and I am still waiting on Equisux. I hope it comes back verified because it is the last piece of ammo I need to file suit. I have them on sooo many violations. NCO a/k/a = Medclr a/k/a Innovision a/k/a Marlin Intergrated a/k/a etc.
Did you send a validation letter? I would also look into reporting them to your state attorney general, if they haven't listed Medclr in their "Doing Business As" section. NCO is horrible at validation. I recommend searching NCO on this site. You will find numerous examples of inproper activities. And whatever you do, document everything, and send certified return receipt. Keep a paper trail. Calling them by phone is worthless.
