I'm A newbie!! Thanks to my hubby. I received a collection letter 1 1/2 years ago from "Medclr,INC/NCO. The name didn't match mine. I then received another letter 1 year 2 months later with the same information now included with a 50% settlement. I have never responded to any of the letters. I have never had any phone calls. Here's the weird part. This collection has never been placed on any of my credit reports. Here's my questions. Can they put it on my credit reports without my SS#. And should I even worry about disputing it.

I had a couple of med bills (from a vet, believe it or not, both for tiny amounts, like $20) go to collections, same thing where they didn't have my SSN. Neither one ever showed up on my credit reports. I paid those when I found out about them (the vet had done a good job with my cat), but I'm sure if I didn't, nothing would have come of it. NCO is just fishing; If you ignore them they'll go away. Besides, the SOL must be pretty close, anyway.

Medclr is said to be out of business at this time, if you do a search for MedClr on the net you will find they have been in trouble for forcing people to pay on money they do not owe.
