    Hi all,

I am new to repairing my credit. I requested copies of the original charges for some medical bills that are on my credit report. There is one for $48.00. I got the bill and it looks like I was charged twice for the same service in the amount of $112.50 x 2. Should I dispute the fact that they are reporting me negatively when there are billing issues or will that just stir them up and have the negative report stay on my credit longer? Any advice???? Thanks,

    Kerry

No, it will not make it stay any longer. Just write the credit reporting agencies and premise your dispute upon what you've already stated above.

You should also dispute the double charges in writing to the original provider, and investigate with your insurance company (if applicable). You need to cover yourself with disputing the charges are in error.

Yes, Reporting it now is always the best option. Just make sure you cover yourself. Good luck!
