If a married couple gets divorced and there are outstanding medical bills incurred by one, do they have to split those debts as well? FYI this is in a community property state. If so, would it make sense for the couple to get divorced and then the one without the medical problems files for bk to get out from under approx $1M in debt? Thanks.
