Hi, I am new here and I hope someone can help me out. I have a question about some medical bills that are on my credit report. This is one of them: Account Name: CBS COL PADU Account # ****** ACCT Type: Collection Account ACCT Status: Closed Date Opened: 3/31/2004 Balance: $0.00 Payment Status: Payment after charge off/ collection, Paid collection I have like 6 of these on my credit report. Can these be removed since I paid them. I also have some medical bills that still have a balance on them. How could I have them removed from my report.
Can't remove them. Negative entries will stay on your credit report for seven years from the date of the original delinquency. Doesn't matter if within the seven years you paid them. It's a conspiracy between creditors and reporting agencies to keep consumers' credit history/rating in the toilet.
Actually GREG1045, you are wrong! THEY CAN BE DELETED!!!!!!! BECCA, if you would like to know how, please email me at EMAIL REMOVED BY MOD. I can 100% guarantee you that it can be deleted in 3-5business days
Guaranteeing results is a violation of the CROA. If I were the OP, I would be very careful dealing with anyone who can guarantee results.
Oh C'mooooonnnnnn Hedwig, don't ya' know how well the ole' fraud affavidit's work. Shoot, it's just committing a misdemeanor!!! What's the CROA? Ain't never heard of it before. Seriously, you're dealing with CBCS. They aren't much fun but, since they are paid dispute them through the credit reporting agencies. They tend not to verify paid items. If that doesn't work, send them a letter detailing that they're not licensed in your state and do not maintain an office there. This may or may not be a requirement, but hey, your not a lawyer. They won't check it rather, they will send you a letter stating they are deleting.
I definitely second Hedwig's notice here! Don't let anyone prey on your "FUD", (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt), it's an old trick.
I doubt Amy even knows what the CROA is or cares to find out. People like this are the ones that never run into trouble because they have no office, phone, website, etc.. Moreover, they're generally not licensed, registered, and they sure as hell aren't bonded or bound by the the Model Rules of Professional Conduct. In short, they're cowboys that make all CSO's look bad. However, if we were try to change that perception . . . we're thrown into the same lot. That is the frustrating part. Getting down of my soapbox, yes, she needs to read the provisions of the CROA and all state law by which she is bound.
